Jay's Photo Album Experiment
The morning was great! Another few hours in Venice. The afternoon was among the worst traveling experiences I have ever had. Florence may be a wonderful city, but until I get some sleep I'll be considering how being back in Rome would be more relaxing. But we'll confine the griping to that picture section.
Although it doesn't really have anything to do with Florence and Venice, I just want to mention how much I appreciate receiving emails from people back home (I've even heard from people I've never met in person, multiple times). Putting these pictures and comments on the Web is something that eats up between 30 minutes and an hour a day, depending on how many shots I have taken and how much I have to say. But I do it because I wish so many of you could be here and enjoying these places with me.
The next best thing I can do is share these photographs with you and try to give you a general idea of what things were like, as well as attempt to convey how I am responding to the experience. Going over the photos each night also gives me a chance to reflect on the day and cement some things in my memory that could have perhaps slipped through. Not to mention making this a daily exercise ensures the work doesn't pile up so much that it's tempting to just let it slide.
Thank you again,
- Jay.
