I have a BA in English.

Out

Out of breath
out of mind
leeward leering looks,
fools and liars
passing notes
divide devised truths.
And you,
tangling dangling strings
that go on and on
and on and on
beyond the sunset sea –
where twisted tethers
spin spider shadows
on the back of he,
who waits
who wants
who comes when called
and listens patiently.
Yes, on that shore
sands stand still
unless watched carefully,
but only fools and liars
turn careless eyes
on this seaside scene.
And then one day,
perhaps too late,
she will wander by
to see sunset
as sands run out.
Out of breath
out of mind.
